Frequently Asked Questions

  • The revolutionary HALO skin rejuvenation system stands out as the only hybrid fractional laser treatment available today. By delivering both ablative and non-ablative wavelengths, the HALO laser addresses superficial skin concerns as well as deeper underlying issues. Its unique ability to penetrate multiple skin layers allows patients to achieve significant, safe, and effective results.

  • One of the most exciting features of HALO laser treatment is its versatility in addressing a wide range of skin concerns. Some of the most common issues that can be significantly improved with HALO laser treatment include:

    - Fine lines and wrinkles

    - Sun damage

    - Skin discoloration

    - Uneven skin pigmentation

    - Age spots

    - Rough skin texture

    - Rosacea

    - Flushed/red skin

    - Large pores

    - Acne scarring

  • During your HALO laser session at Self Beauty Medical Spa, you will relax in one of our comfortable private treatment rooms. Our skilled team will apply topical numbing cream, and you'll wait roughly 30-45 minutes for it to take effect. After that, we'll perform the Halo laser treatment, which takes about 10-15 minutes. The HALO laser uses advanced "smart" technology to measure skin temperature and signal when each area has been adequately treated, ensuring uniform exposure across the face. This system also allows the practitioner to customize the treatment for each patient, tailoring it to individual needs, goals, available downtime, and other specific factors.

  • While the HALO system includes an integrated cooling mechanism to reduce discomfort, we also apply a topical anesthetic numbing ointment before your treatment. Most patients find HALO laser treatment to be quite tolerable, often describing the sensation as a warm, prickling feeling.

  • In the first few days following a HALO treatment session, your skin may appear red and inflamed, much like a sunburn. Most people can return to work and social activities after several days, and you can wear makeup after 24 hours. You will begin to see results after one week. Skin will continue to improve at the one month and second month mark as skin cells turn over, and new collagen is produced.

What to Expect During Treatment

1. Consultation

During your HALO laser consultation at Self Beauty, our specialists will assess your skin and discuss your goals and explain how the HALO laser technology works to target fine lines, sun damage, and uneven skin tone. We will then create a personalized treatment plan, answer any questions, and schedule your sessions.

2. Treatment Process

During the HALO laser treatment, a topical numbing cream is first applied to the treatment area to ensure comfort. The device's handpiece is then uniformly rolled over the skin in sections, delivering dual-laser energy in short bursts to each targeted area, such as the left cheek, right cheek, forehead, chin, and around the nose and lips. Excluding the numbing time, the actual treatment duration ranges from 15 to 25 minutes.

3. Recovery & Downtime

The first 1-3 hours after the procedure, you will feel heat similar to an intense sunburn. After this initial phase, there should be no physical discomfort; however, there will be a feeling of tightness, and your skin will be dry. Downtime includes redness and swelling for the first 3 days followed by an additional 3-5 days of sandpaper-like skin, which gradually sloughs off from the center of the face to the hairline. Social downtime is determined by individual comfort; however, makeup can be worn on day 2!

How much does Halo laser treatment cost?

The HALO laser targets the top of the skin as well as the deep layers, which treats overall skin tone, texture, pigment, sun damage, acne scars and diminishes large pores. This treatment rejuvenates the skin making it luminous and supple! Most clients need around two sessions, but frequency of treatment varies based on your individual skin and the intensity of treatment. Prices for HALO laser treatment are as follows.

  • Face: $1,550

  • Neck: $1,000

  • Chest: $1,550
